David Merritt is the Director of Defensive Analytics at Kenvue. In this role, Dr Merritt leads a team leveraging data science and analytics to support cybersecurity actions and cyber risk treatment. His team incorporates AI, machine learning, and big data to predict risky situations to the company. Dr Merritt spent 20 years in the Air Force as a cyber operator and educator, where he served as the Head of the Department of Computer and Cyber Sciences at the U.S. Air Force Academy, led the cyberspace weapons testing and experimentation activities for U.S. Cyber Command, and led all investigations for the Air Force Computer Emergency Response Team (AFCERT). Dr Merritt holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Michigan, where his research focused on hybrid intelligence (humans + machines), social computing, crowdsourcing, and computer supported cooperative work.
