Jonathan Buckner currently works for Aaron’s, Inc. as an Associate Information Security Engineer for the Attack and Threat Services team. Before joining the Aaron’s, Inc. team, Jonathan was completing his Cyber Security degree at Sam Houston State University.

Jonathan began his work at Aaron’s, Inc. as the college summer intern in May of 2022. He worked directly under the Security Architect and focused primarily on threat intelligence and managing their security control validation platform. Jonathan then presented high-level findings and accomplishments to the President of the company. Jonathan was then extended through his final semester where he began developing a budget-friendly security control validation initiative and attended the RH-ISAC 2022 Intelligence Summit.

Upon completing his degree, Jonathan began his full-time position as an Associate Information Security Engineer with Aaron’s, Inc. in January of 2023 where he continues to implement threat intelligence operations, assisting in penetration tests, and further operationalizing a budget-friendly security control validation program.
